Blessing Our Women, Inc. works to improve the accessibility and usability of our website and digital content. Our goal is to make information easier to read, understand, navigate, interact with, and access using assistive technology.
BOW's goal is to work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, where reasonably applicable to the website and content we control.
This is worded as "working toward" WCAG 2.2 AA because the site continues to develop and has not yet undergone formal conformance testing.

Clear Page Structure
Pages use meaningful headings and a logical reading order to help visitors navigate content more easily, including visitors using screen readers.
Readable Content
We aim to use readable fonts, adequate text sizing, appropriate spacing, and clear language wherever possible.
Color & Contrast
Text and important interface elements should have sufficient contrast against their backgrounds. Color is not the only method used to communicate important information.
Keyboard Accessibility
Website visitors should be able to access important website functions without requiring a mouse whenever the website platform and components allow it. Visible keyboard focus indicators remain enabled.
Images & Alternative Text
Meaningful website images include appropriate alternative text so visitors using screen readers can understand the purpose or content of the image. Decorative images are marked so assistive technologies can appropriately skip them.
Video & Audio Content
Where reasonably possible and appropriate, BOW works toward providing accessibility support for multimedia content, including captions for prerecorded videos, transcripts when appropriate, and meaningful titles and descriptions.
Forms
BOW aims to make forms easier to understand and complete by providing clear labels, understandable instructions, logical question order, identifiable required fields, understandable error messages, and accessible buttons and controls.
Links & Buttons
Link and button text describes its purpose whenever reasonably possible, rather than using generic phrases like "Click Here" or "Learn More" without context.
Mobile Accessibility
Many visitors—especially someone seeking help privately—may access BOW primarily from a phone. The website is designed with mobile navigation, readable text, appropriate button sizing, and form completion in mind.
Quick Exit & Survivor-Facing Pages
Because BOW serves people affected by domestic violence, survivor-focused pages may include a Quick Exit feature. That feature is designed to be keyboard accessible, have a visible focus state, and function consistently on applicable pages. A Quick Exit feature cannot guarantee that browsing history, network activity, or other device activity will be hidden.
Documents & Downloads
Important Information Should Be Accessible on the Page.
BOW may provide documents such as applications, guides, forms, educational resources, policies, event materials, and program information. We work toward making important downloadable documents accessible when reasonably possible.
Whenever an important document contains information necessary to participate in a program or service, BOW also provides the essential information directly on the website rather than requiring visitors to download a file.
Third-Party Content
Some Content Is Outside Our Direct Control.
The BOW website may link to or embed content provided by third parties, including forms, payment or donation services, event registration systems, videos, maps, social media, and external resource organizations. BOW may not control the accessibility of all third-party websites, platforms, or embedded services.
We encourage visitors who experience difficulty accessing third-party content reached through BOW to contact us so we can attempt to identify another reasonable way to provide the needed information when possible.
