Avis' Legacy Scholarship
Honoring Her Legacy. Investing in Their Future.
The Avis' Legacy Scholarship was established by Blessing Our Women, Inc. in loving memory of Avis Wells, whose life was tragically lost to domestic violence. Through this scholarship, her memory continues by creating educational opportunities for individuals who have been personally impacted by domestic violence and are working toward a stronger future.
Legacy in Action. Hope in Her Honor.
About Avis' Legacy
Her Life Is More Than How Her Story Ended
Avis Wells was a mother, loved one, and woman whose life and memory continue to make an impact. She was a mother of six—one daughter and five sons, including twins—and her presence touched the lives of those around her.
After Avis' life was tragically taken by domestic violence, her memory became part of a larger commitment to create opportunity from loss. Blessing Our Women, Inc. established Avis' Legacy Scholarship so that her name would continue to represent hope, opportunity, perseverance, and possibility.
Avis' story did not end with what happened to her. Her legacy continues through every scholar whose future this fund helps support.
